Museums in Glasgow

Popular examples include the innovative St. Mungo's Museum of Religious life and art (the firsts of it's kind in Europe); an exhibition of religious and culture in the West-of Scotland and across the world. The museum is also the proud owner of Salvador Dali's internationally renowned painting "Christ of St. John on the Cross".

The work of acclaimed Glaswegian architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh can be found in many of the museums and galleries throughout the city for example The Martyr's School and Scotland Street Museum which also allow visitors to experience the life of a pupil through different stages of the 20th century.

Visitors are also welcome to the city's many art galleries, also free of admission. Glasgow offers a range of museums exploring various themes and genres from contemporary to traditional art, from international and home-grown artist. The Kelvingrove art gallery (also a museum) and the Gallery of Modern Art - the second most visited contemporary art gallery outside of London.
