On the banks of the River Clyde lies the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC), one of the largest conference centres in Europe. The SECC is Scotland's national venue for public events and can hold several thousands in its halls and auditoriums, among them up to 3,000 in the Clyde auditorium and as much as 10,000 in the largest hall. Such a capacity makes the SECC a formality fixture for major bands touring the UK.

The SECC is the largest integrated exhibition and conference centre in the UK. It lays claim to a slice of its own architectural genius with the 'armadillo', adjacent to the main centre, rightfully compared to such works as the Sydney Opera House.

An already fine venue for exhibitions, conferences and concerts will be further enhanced when work is completed to transform the SECC's 64 acre site into a complete, exhibition, conference and entertainment complex. Due for completion in mid 2007, Finnieston's very own work of art will include a 12,500 seated arena and Scotland's first Destination Resort casino, with a luxury 5-star, 150 room, garden hotel, family entertainment centre, three specialised restaurants, supper club, sports bar and buffet restaurant.

Host to many great bands, artists and exhibitions, the SECC has enjoyed a vast number of the world's most famous artists and bands over the years. A worthy and proud landmark, it ranks well with Glasgow's other breathtaking architecture.

The SECC is easily wheelchair accessible with all concerts hosted on the same floor and upper tiers accessible via lift. Food and drink facilities are also widely available throughout the complex.
