The Pavilion Theatre has a strong music hall tradition, boasting a unique mix of variety entertainment for over 100 years.. Designed by architect, Bertie Crewe in 1904, it features a striking terracotta façade and domed ceiling with a sliding roof for ventilation. The interior of this 1800 seat theatre is ornately decorated with fine Rococco plasterwork and has the finest mahogany woodwork and marble floor in the country, lending an aura of Edwardian elegance and grandeur.
A host of music hall legends have performed at the Glasgow Pavilion Theatre over the years and its strong pantomime tradition is well established, with Christmas performances of Aladdin, Jack & the Beanstock, Snow White and many more, with appearances from renowned Scottish actors and comedians.
In addition, the Pavilion continues to enjoy a plethora of old favourites in comedy such as Jimmy Tarbuck and Billy Connolly as well as more recent arrivals to the circuit, like Patrick Kielty and Ed Byrne.
